Cabin Fever

Every summer we take a trip up Provo canyon to stay at our family cabin.
It is one of my favorite vacation spots and cool thing about our cabin is that it was built by my Great Grandfather.

There are so many great memories that live within the walls of this cabin...
Uncountable rounds of Phase 10 and Pit...
Listening to Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC...
Falling into a grove of stinging nettle and taking a mud bath afterwards...
Playing Barbies in the river...
Wondering who will be the lucky sucker whose sitting on the wooden swing when it finally breaks...
Dad singing Bread and Kenny Loggins when he thought no one could hear him that last summer before he got cancer...
Sliding down the stair banister...
Hitting your head on the wood beam at the top of the stairs...
Roasting Hotdogs and S'mores...
Cinnamon Rolls and Hot Chocolate for breakfast...
Playing Celestial pursuit and hoping that how well you do in the game has nothing to do where you end up in Heaven...
Walking to the fish pond, and possibly loosing a shoe or two in the bottom of it...
Hanging our feet off the bridge over the creek...
 And hiking to the falls...

While we were at our cabin I couldn't help but feel grateful for My Great-Grandparents for building it.
They had no idea that their summer home would become a place that brought so much joy to their posterity.
As I thought about them my thoughts turned to all of my ancestors who came before me, without the sacrifices they made I would not be here living the blessed life I live.
I owe a lot of my happiness to them.

Grandma's Garden, and why I love being Aunty Em

One of my favorite callings in life is to be Aunty Em.
I can say without a doubt that I have THE cutest nieces and nephew of all time...
The proof is in the pictures.
